  - On behalf of the men and women of the El Paso Police Department, I welcome you to our website.

The City of El Paso is an exciting international city with a growing vibrant population. It is uniquely located along one of the world's largest international borders and home to the largest military base in the country.

The city’s policing authority, the City of El Paso Police Department, is a dynamic and innovative entity currently composed of over 1,100 officers and nearly 300 civilian employees who serve with pride and dedication. The department’s efforts are supported by a large contingent of community volunteers who donate their time to perform a variety of essential and valuable duties. The department’s focus on community relationships and on reducing crime has placed El Paso as the 2nd safest large city in the United States, and as one of the top three safest cities for seven years in a row. The City of El Paso was also named the "Second Safest City in the U.S." by the Morgan Quitno Press in 2005, for the third consecutive year. The Department has also received, and continues to receive, national recognition for many of its innovative programs. These accomplishments are only possible through the dedication of the Department’s officers, civilian staff, volunteers and community partnerships.

I take great pride in being entrusted with the honor and responsibility that comes with leading the El Paso Police Department. Just as my predecessors have, I will continue to seek and embrace changes that resolve the problems affecting our community in a forthright and effective manner. To accomplish this, the values and principles upon which the department was founded will continue to play a major role in how we serve the public and will be used as our parameters of future success. As this vibrant and diverse city continues to grow and the El Paso Police Department continues to move forward, we will maintain the highest standards of professional ethics and personal integrity as we fulfill our mission “to preserve life, to enforce the law, and to work in partnership with the community to enhance the quality of life in the City of El Paso". Personally, I continue to believe in the truism that the street police officer is the most important person in the department.

Please explore our website and allow us to share our proud tradition in public safety. We will continue to provide you with valuable and easy to access on-line information as we continue to build upon and improve our web site for you. Thank you for visiting our website.
